Changjiang sits directly across the road from Guangzhou International Textile City and trades on exactly that relationship. It is one of the fifty-nine large commercial entities that make up the Zhongda cluster, and its proposition is simple: much of the same fabric, at a visibly lower price, in a building that spends nothing on directory screens or delivery robots.
The complex is really two adjacent operations — Changjiang (International) Textile City and Changjiang (China) Fabrics & Accessories Centre — that most buyers treat as one destination. Between them they hold over a thousand shops across two zones.
What the market sells
Wovens are the centre of gravity. Suiting, shirting, twill, canvas and bottom-weights fill most of the floor, and the pricing on plain constructions is among the most competitive in the district.
The zoning is worth knowing before you arrive. The south zone concentrates on pile fabrics — corduroy, suede, velvet and their synthetic equivalents — which is the market's genuine speciality and the reason buyers cross the road for it. The north zone carries knits and performance fabrics, including quick-dry and moisture-wicking constructions for sportswear.
Changjiang also holds one of the larger concentrations of fur and fur-effect materials in Guangzhou, real and synthetic, which is not something the flagship building carries in depth.

This is a price-led market, and the discipline it asks of you is the usual one: get a cutting before you commit. Lower prices on nominally identical constructions usually reflect a real difference somewhere — yarn quality, weight tolerance, finishing consistency — and on plain wovens that difference is easy to miss on the roll and impossible to miss on the finished garment.
Minimums are the district standard: cuttings for sampling, roll quantities for wholesale pricing, a few hundred metres per colour for anything dyed to order. Pile fabrics can carry higher minimums than flat wovens because of how they are finished.

Because it sits directly across from the flagship, it is almost always visited as the second stop of the same trip. Budget two or three hours, and bring the swatches you collected over the road.
